General Membership News:The annual General Membership
meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 3, @ 7pm. It is Very IMPORTANT for
the members, who are also the sole owners of this establishment, to attend this meeting
and exercise their right to choose the Board of Director members who will be the
governing body of Green Oaks for the next three years along with the remaining
members of the board.
We have three of the seven board positions open for this election. These three positions
are for three year terms. At the present time, we have eight members whom have thrown
their hats into the ring, so to speak. We will accept nominations for these three positions
until Monday, April 2nd. After that time anyone else running will have to be nominated from
the floor at the time of the meeting.
The following members are seeking a position on the board:
Gary Atkins(Re-election),Bruce Stevens,Arl Taylor, Frank Newsome, Dennis Cox, Stanley Taggart
George Dowdle and Todd Stanley.
This past weekend Green Oaks held its first tournament of the year. It was well run by our
excellent tournament committee. Every Participant seemed to have a great time. We have several
tournaments scheduled for this year.Tournaments link. These events
are very important to this golf club as they do bring in additional funds to help with the expense
of operating the club. We need you to support your club by playing in these tournamentsw whenever
you can, Thanks, Gene.
From the Course
Superintendent: We have had a very early Spring. The weather has been very warm and great
for golfing. However, like everyone else, we could use some rain. Our irrigation system only reach
certain areas so a good rain for full coverage of the course would be most welcome. The Bermuda grass
has not really started coming in yet due to the cold nights, Be patient, it is just around the corner,
Also, please realize that our sprinkler system is on a timer so if it comes on while you are playing
just step aside, it won't be on for a long time.
