April 2009


General Membership News:March has continued to be a good month for new members. Generally at this time of the year new applications are few and far between. A warm welcome to our new members: Harry Walker,Drew Cash and Dan Pittman. Its our goal to provide you with a quality golf course to play and good facilities to for you and your families to enjoy.

General Memebrship Meeting:
April 7th 2009 is the date, 7 pm is the time. This meeting is only once a year. The election of 3 new officers for the Board of Directors is the main event; however the meeting also offers our memebrs a chance to voice their opinions, good or bad, about Green Oaks. This is your chance, so come on out. One hour a year is not too much to ask of Green Oaks Finest. The following memebrs have thrown thier hats in the ring so to speak; Greg Bryant, Fred Chappell and Bobby Parker. Anyone else interested please notify the pro shop by 4 pm on the 6th of April.

Events:
The icebureg tournament had to be delayed a week due to weather but we had a great tournament. The Fish Fry was fantastic, the Biggest crowd I've seen in years. I know I'll leave somebody out, I always do, but here goes.For that super evening, a very special thanks to Mark Reynolds J.D. Trull, Jim Ragon, George Dowdle, Sherry and Shirley Taylor, Vickey Evans, Sonya Presnall, Lillie Kelly, and our Green Oaks Staff. Thanks also to everyone who came out and enjoyed the festivities. we will be doing this again before long. For the month of april on Good Friday the annual Sanderson Tournament will be held, followed by a one person scramble on April 18th & 19th and last but not least the Club scramble on Sunday April 26. A good busy month, come on and enjoy it with us.

Well all good things must come to an end. On behalf of Billy Conn and Myself; we appreciate the membership of Green Oaks for allowing the two of us to serve for the past 10 years. It has been an honor and privilege.

From the Superintendent: The golf course has held up very well with all the rain and two big tournament. We will be fretilizing soon, we will only close half of the course at a time to allow play, times will be posted. For your safety and the good of the course, only play on the side of the course that has been open for play during this time.
